ABOUT US
WHO ARE
WE?
Women's INFO
is one of the oldest independently organized women's
centers in the Northeast. We have always focused on
women's issues, facilitating dialogue and action.
Founded in 1972, members established an information
and referral service for women and documented a
critical need for programs to assist rape victims,
battered women and displaced homemakers.
INFO
volunteers developed crisis services, shelters and
counseling programs sensitive to women's concerns.
Many area programs which have their roots at INFO
are now separate organizations.
Today, INFO
still offers Women's Space to dialogue, network,
share skills, explore concerns and offer support.
As an
independent charitable group staffed by active
volunteers and a Board of Directors, INFO receives
support through memberships, donations and
fundraisers. Member involvement and generosity has
always allowed INFO to grow and change in response
to community needs.
